T455. Iron Katchushi Sukashi Tsuba
T455. Thin plate Katchushi tsuba. 8 x 8.7 x .4 cm on the raised rim (the plate is 2 mm). The nakago hitsu-ana is 1 x 2.6 cm. Katchushi were armor makers. It is thought that they made tsuba at the side and often those tsuba were a thin iron plate with a raised rim. The sukashi are damnedifino:-) I don’t know what they represent but I find the design quite pleasing. The tsuchime finish on the plate works well with the sukashi and nicely raised rim. $285.
