T410. Unusually Shaped Iron Tsuba
T410. Iron tsuba with gold and shakudo inlay. 7.7 x 8.1 x .6 cm. The nakago hitsu-ana is .9 x 2.6 cm. Somewhat unusual composition here: this tsuba is thick at the seppa dai and at the rim, and thinner between. Also, it is very slightly mokko shaped. Mountains in the mist and water below, I believe. Looks like the prow of a boat peeking out from behind a rock at the bottom. The hitsu-ana are nicely plugged with shakudo; condition and patina are excellent. $175.
