Q568. Papered Tsuba by Ichiryuken Naotoshi
Q568. Iron tsuba signed Ichiryuken Naotoshi with a Kao: gold inlay. 7.6 x 8.1 x .33 cm. The nakago hitsu-ana is ,9 x 2.6 cm. According to Robert Haynes Index, Naotoshi was a student of Yanagawa Naomasa and worked in the Ichiryu School. This tsuba comes with a Tokubetsu Kicho paper from the NBTHK, dated 1978.
This is a very fine tsuba in excellent condition. Only tiny bits of the gold inlay are missing, the carving is crisp, and the patina is wonderful. The eyes of the shishi are inlaid in gold also. $795
