Q166. Futokoromono in Shakudo, Paper To Goto
Q166. Menuki and kotsuka in shakudo. The kotsuka is 1.4 x 9.6 cm; the menuki are 3.8 and 4 cm long. Water buffalo, 2 each menuki and 2 on a very fine nanako base on the kotsuka. Everything is shakudo; there are no other soft metals. This set comes in a fitted box with pillow and with a Hozon paper from the NBTHK in Tokyo, dated 2014 and giving it to Goto. The Goto family was the most famous group of fittings makers, working for the upper eschelons of Japanese society. Excellent, of course, condition. $1,200.
