P109. Papered Shoami Iron Sukashi Tsuba
P109. Iron sukashi tsuba papered to Shoami. 7.2 x 7.3 x .3 cm. The nakago hitsu-ana is .8 x 3.2 cm. Not sure what the sukashi is; maybe the ornamental folded paper suspended from shrine eaves. The paper, Kicho Token from the NBTHK dated 1972, gives this tsuba to Shoami. The iron is wonderful with subtle tekkotsu on the rim and there are faint remnants of gold zogan here and there on the plate. The nakago hitsu-ana is unusually shaped and the udenuki ana at the bottom go through at a slight angle. Very nice tsuba in great condition. Was $400. Now reduced to $320.
