M153. Iron, brass, & silver tsuba
M153. Iron, brass, & silver tsuba. 8.4 x 9 x .5 cm. The nakago hitsu-ana measures .7 x 2.8 cm. Musashino is the design: abumi (stirrups) of fallen Samurai litter the plains of Musashi after battle. I’ve seen this done many times before but this is the 1st to use silver for one of the abumi. The plate is dense, in great condition, and with many subtle tekkotsu. 1 stirrup and 1 small brass ten zogan (dot) are missing; the rest is intact. $95.
