M134. Iron Umetada tsuba
M134. Iron with applied brass and lead plug in the kogai hitsu-ana. 5.5 x 6.1 x .4 cm. The nakago hitsu-ana measures .65 x 2.25 cm. Paulownia crest in brass on carved iron plate; likely work of the UmetadaSchool of mid to late Edo. The patina is a bit thin in spots; otherwise all is well. This tsuba comes with a custom fitted box. Was $150, now $125.
