K182.  Iron tsuba.  7 x 7.6 x .45 cm at the rim and seppa-dai (thinner between).  The nakago hitsu-ana is .8 x 2.5 cm.  I believe this to be a yakite (flame melted) finish but it isn’t as glossy as those usually are; it is more like velvet than lacquer.  The hammer work that left cloud forms between the rim and seppa-dai is wonderously well done.  This tsuba could easily be overlooked but it deserves better: quite nice.  $225.
