K138. Highly Unusual Lacquer Tsuba
K138. Tsuba made of lacquered wood. 5.9 x 7 x .55 cm at the raised rim. The nakago hitsu-ana is.8 x 2.6 cm. Robert Haynes looked at this tsuba at the show in San Francisco. He thinks the mei would be read Yo something Sai and that this likely would have been made by an inro artist trying something new. Sorry; I don’t have Romaji or a translation for the poem. The color of the tsuba is very clsoe to that in my pictures; in real life it is a bit brighter than it appears in the pictures. Condition is perfect. $875.
