H386. Old Sukashi Tsuba with Gold Nunome
H386. From the Holbrook collection; Skip’s tag reads, “Katchushi, Umi, Muromachi Period, Traces of original Nunome (river)”. 9 x 9.1 x .35 – .4 cm. The nakago hitsu-ana is.9 x 3 cm. At one time, the plum (ume) blossom sukashi was floating on a river current worked in gold nunome; traces of gold and the current’s path can still be seen. On the other side is the remains of what may have been a nunome flower. Subtle tekkotsu on the rim; excellent condition. $395.
