D103. Akasaka Tsuba
D103. Akasaka tsuba dating to Mid Edo. 6.3 x 6.6 x .5 cm. The nakago hitsu-ana is .8 x 2.8 cm. Other than the 2 birds I can’t tell you what the theme is, but it is a very nice tsuba in any case. There is a very faint crack near the top of the tsuba (visible in my 3rd picture). Since there is no evidence of damage this probably was there since the piece was made. If not for the crack this would be more expensive. $275.
