C207.  Menuki of shakudo and gold.  Each about 4.2 cm long.  These are Suneate, shin guards from Japanese armor, and an uncommon theme for menuki.  Very nicely made with high relief.  The owner has told me he considers this to be work of the Momoyama Period, Ko Kinko.  The posts on the back have been bent over; otherwise condition is mint.  Comes with a box with pillow.  $400.
