T457.  Shingen tsuba.  7.7 x 7.8 x .4 cm on the plate (.75 cm across the wire).  The nakago hitsu-ana is .8 x 2.7 cm.  The story behind Shingen is that a feudal Daimyo took up the hobby of adding wire ornamentation to older iron tsuba.  Whatever the truth, the style took and has been passed down as Shingen tsuba.  Brass and shakudo wire alternate and one ryo-hitsu has been filled with lead; condition is excellent.  This would be a great fit as daisho tsuba with T458.  $295.
