Q163. Iron Tsuba with Paper to Bushu Masatsune

$400 + Shipping & Insurance

Q163.  Iron sukashi tsuba with gold inlay.  7 x 7.2 x .4 cm.  The nakago hitsu-ana is .8 x 2.8 cm.  This tsuba comes with a Tokubetsu Kicho paper from the NBTHK dated 1972, giving it to Bushu Masatsune.  There is also a laminated certificate from Aoi-Art in Tokyo which says, "Ginko leaf, maple leaf, pine cone, pine needles, acorns make a fine iron sukashi tsuba.  Drifted late autumn leaves design is called Fukiyose-zu in Japanese.  It is a witticism of Japanese language that Fukiyose is a homonym means wealth and fame."  Homonym means sounds the same.  Don't know that you'll become wealthy or famous if you buy this tsuba but I do know you'll like it.  It is quite fine.  $400.
