C225. Shakudo Kogai Papered to 3rd Goto Joshin
C225. Shakudo kogai worked with nanako and gold. 1.25 x 22.6 cm . Papered Hozon from the NBTHK in 2008 to Den Joshin. Joshin was the 3rd mainline master of the Goto family and was active at the start of the 16th century. He combined his artistic career with that of a Samurai, lived a relatively short life, and consequently his work is less common than that of the other early Goto and difficult to find. Some of the gold is missing from this piece; otherwise condition is excellent and quality is wonderful. Comes with a fitted box with pillow. $2,000.
