$1,750 + Shipping & Insurance

S133.  Wakizashi signed Kashu Kanenaga Saku and with hozon paper from the NBTHK dated 2010, attesting to the signature and specifying Shinto (this would be earliest Shinto).

Nagasa:  17"  43.1 cm.

Sori:  1.8 cm.

Moto haba:  3.9 cm.

Moto kasane:  .65 cm.

Saki haba:  2.9 cm.

Saki kasane:  .5 cm.

Nakago nagasa:  5"  12.4 cm.

Overall in shira-saya:  25 1/4"  64 cm.

This is a very broad wakizashi with a strong sori, wide bo hi on both sides, and a long chu kissaki.  The hada is fine and tight ko itame; there are a few spots with a hint of slightly coarse grain.  The hamon is exuberant gunome midare with tons of sunagashi and kinsuji, all covered in ara-nie.  There are numerous spots of isolated temper above the hamon (yo).  There is a marked difference in the width of the yakiba (hardened area) as the hamon progresses along the blade; in places it is high and in others low, approaching the edge but never runs off.  The boshi is quite complex with ko-maru and a longish kaeri.  The boshi covers nearly all of the kissaki.  Other than the hint of coarse grain, this is flawless.

In polish with a silver foil habaki and well made shira-saya in great condition.  2 pounds.  $1,750.
