Shinogi zukuri, koshi zori, iore mune, chu kissaki, ubu 1 hole. The hada is tight ko-itame with bright ji-nie (beautiful hada). The hamon is gunome with togariba and hako gunome, in a consistent nioi guchi covered in ko-nie. There is sunagashi, kinsuji, and other hataraki; the nie boils off into the ji. The boshi is a slightly swept ko maru with a short kaeri. The blade is in high class polish and flawless. It comes with a solid silver habaki with kiri mon carved on each side and in well made shirasaya in excellent condition. Everything is excellent condition; no excuses necessary for this one.
This wakizashi comes with a Hozon paper from the NBTHK in Tokyo, dated 1995 and attesting to the signature and quality. There were 2 generations of Shinano no Kami Nobuyoshi working in the 2nd half of the 17th century. The paper doesn't specify generation and, since the work of the 2 was similar and their signatiures show little difference between them, I won't either. I can tell you this is a very well made sword and I have no hesitation in recommending it to you. 2 pounds, 7 ounces. $2,450.
