Ubu, one hole, koshi zori, iore mune, long chu kissaki. The hada is ko-nuka or nashiji. The hamon is a bright and consistent nioi guchi covered in finest ko-nie: suguba with subtle hataraki. The boshi is a continuation of the hamon ending in o-maru and a medium kaeri. The blade is flawless and in polish. It comes with a silver foil habaki and well made shirasaya, both in good condition, and a Hozon paper from the NBTHK in Tokyo, dated 2010 and attesting to the signature and quality of work and preservation.
This sword is most impressive with its size and heft; the technical term for the style is Volkswagen Cutter 🙂 Large, ubu, signed & dated, in polish, flawless: what’s not to like? 3 pounds, 6 ounces. $3,750.
