Shinogi zukuri, iore mune, chu kissaki, koshi zori, The hada is itame with mokume. The hamon is wide, variations of choji including hako choji, with sunagashi and ashi, in a bright nioi guchi covered in fine ko nie. The boshi is complex, strongly swept in a ko-maru with a medium kaeri. I see one pin prick pit and no other of anything I would call a defect. The blade is in polish with 4 or 5 small dark stains. My pictures, which cover every inch of the blade, will show these. This sword is mounted with a double copper habaki and in quality shirasaya in excellent condition.
The paper specifies Kyoho for the date: 1716, which would make this one of the generations of Bitchu no Kami Yasuhiro working in Settsu Province. Nice sword. 1 pound, 11 ounces. $1,450.
