B990.  Osafune Choshi.  1998  2 clothbound volumes with plastic jackets, slipcase, and cardboard storage box, 8 1/2 x 12″, 729 total pages in Japanese.  Until its destruction by a flood a long time ago, Osafune village was the center of sword making in Bizen, the most prolific of all sword making provinces in Koto time.  One of the volumes is mostly text, with pictures of documents and some oshigata of blades.  The other volume is great black & white photos and oshigata of wonderful swords from end to end.  This is a very useful reference for Bizen.  The volume with photos & oshigata is included in the Index of Japanese Sword Literature on the JSS/US website; there is an index of its contents.

I have a copy here with me and another with a trusted consignor to my site who will ship from Europe. You will get the copy closest to you. The copy here has a short and insignificant separation on a corner of its slipcase. Otherwise, both copies are in excellent, like new condition.  9 pounds, 4 ounces.  $375.
