There was a time in Japan when brass, which had to be imported from the Asian mainland, was more expensive than gold. This book is a very thorough presentation of the 3 schools who worked in brass inlay on iron. There are 19 pages of introduction and history and at the back of the book 3 pages of glossary and bibliography; the rest of the pages are given to illustrations and descriptions, with pictures of tsuba on nearly every one of them. The book is in like new condition, with a former owner's name written inside the front and the author's signature. 12 ounces. $40.
