Kantei is the process by which you know when and by whom a sword was made without seeing a signature. This is an excellent book to help with kantei. All aspects of the sword are discussed: history, schools, care and appreciation, and what’s really helpful, you are given kantei by grain, kantei by temperline, kantei by temper in point, and a lot more. I own a copy of this book; wouldn’t be without it.
