B509. Sunpu Owakemono Token To Sengoku Busho Gazo
B509. Sunpu Owakemono Token no Sengoku Busho Gazo. 1974. Softbound, 8 1/4 x 11 3/4″, maybe 150 pages in Japanese. My understanding of this book, and I may be mistaken: When Shogun Tokugawa Iyeyasu ceded power to his son he retired to Sunpu Castle. This book is a history of the retirement. You get crisp black & white photos of his swords and koshirae (he had nice stuff), contemporary paintings of Iyayasu, and photos of records that were kept to document the swords he gave away and to whom they were given. The book is about half illustrations and half text.
One corner has been badly bumped and the cover is slightly foxed from sunlight. Otherwise the book is fine. 2 pounds. $60.
