B464.  Tokubetsu Kikaku Ten: Muramasa: Ise Kuwana no Toko by The Kuwana Museum.  2016.  Softbound, 8 1/4 x 11 3/4″, 56 pages in Japanese.  If Masamune was the most famous swordsmith in Japanese history, Muramasa was the most infamous.  Blades by Muramasa inflicted damage and death on prominent members of the Tokugawa Shogunate and for a while in the Edo Period it was not permitted to own one.  43 swords, 20 by Muramasa and the rest by students & associates, and 31 tsuba and other kodogu are pictured in color.  This must have been the largest accumulation of Muramasa’s work ever anywhere.

The book is new.  10 ounces.  $75.
