B178. Meibutsu Token: Takaramono no Nihonto
B178. Meibutsu Token: Takaramono no Nihonto. (Treasured Japanese Swords) 2011. Clothbound with slipcase, 8 ½ x 11 ¼”, 226 pages in Japanese with English introductions and list of plates. This catalog came from an exhibition at 4 museums in Japan. It examines the Meibutsu, famous swords of the Kyoho Meibutsu Cho, an Edo Era list commissioned by the 8th Tokugawa Shogun, Yoshimune. Incredible stuff here, only the best. Crystal clear black & white and color photos and oshigata of many of the blades, and a multi page fold out list of the Kyoho Meibutsu Cho. I have also the softbound edition of this book: B151.
Bumped corners; otherwise the book is new. 3 pounds, 4 ounces. Now $45.
