B1029.  Oshigata: Sword Rubbings of the Shitahara School by Karita Naoji and Kensho Furuya.  1995.  Softbound, 8 1/2 x 11″, 40 pages in English.  This book was published to accompany an exhibition at the Japanese American Cultural & Community Center in Los Angeles.  The Shitahara School was founded by Chikashige in the 16th century; the school persisted until some time in the 19th century.  Shitahara blades were prized for their durability in battle.  After a few introductions and an essay on the school, the book is given to oshigata of great Shitahara swords.  Condition is pristine.  6 ounces.  $30.
