B278. Japanese Names and How To Read Them

B278.  Japanese Names and How To Read Them by Koop and Inada.  1972.  Hardbound, the dust jacket is missing, 7 3/4 x 10″, 575 pages in English.  This is a Kanji dictionary that focuses on characters used in personal and geographical names.  I’ve had a copy since I first started studying the sword; I wore out my 1st copy and am currently working on the 2nd.  I find this useful because it tells me more than other dictionaries about how the characters were used and how they combine to make names.

This copy has been well used: shelf wear on the covers and some toning on the pages. I would call this a good reading copy.  3 pounds, 5 ounces.  Normally $40, this one for $30.
