$2,250.00

N125. A long wakizashi signed on the ura Bishu Osafune Junin and on the omote Yokoyama Kozuke Daijo Fujiwara Sukesada.

Nagasa: 23 1/16″ 58.5 cm.

Sori: 1.8 cm.

Moto Haba: 3.2 cm.

Moto Kasane: .8 cm.

Saki Haba: 2.1 cm.

Saki Kasane: .6 cm.

Nakago Nagasa: 5 3/8″ 13.8 cm.

Overall length in shirasaya: 32″ 83.5 cm.

Tight and flawless ko-itame hada.  The hamon starts with a sugu yaki-dashi and becomes gunome midare with peaks in ko-choji.  The nioi guchi is bright and clear and covered in ko-nie; there is sunagashi, kinsuji and yo.  The boshi is sugu going to o-maru with a medium long kaeri.  The blade is close to being in polish and is mounted with a mediocre habaki and in shirasaya.  There are tiny nicks in the edge; the largest is just below the kissaki and the rest are much tinier (barely visible).  There is a closed fukure in the shinogi-ji mid length of the blade.

Kozuke daijo Sukesada was born in 1633.  He was granted his title in 1664 and passed away in 1721.  I have included pictures of the nakago with a page from Fujishiro’s Nihon Toko Jiten so you can compare the signature to an authenticated example (looks good to me).

2 pounds, 5 ounces.  Was $3,650, now 2,250.
