B865. The Connoisseur's Book of Japanese Swords by Kokan Nagayama
B865. The Connoisseur’s Book of Japanese Swords by Kokan Nagayama. 1997. Hardbound with dust jacket and plastic jacket, 7 ¾ x 10 ¼”, 355 pages in English. Kantei is the process by which you know when and by whom a sword was made without seeing a signature. This is an excellent book to help with kantei. All aspects of the sword are discussed: history, schools, care and appreciation, and what’s really helpful, you are given kantei by grain, kantei by temperline, kantei by temper in point, and a lot more. I own a copy of this book; wouldn’t be without it.
Corners are bumped just a tiny bit and there is a shallow ding in the front cover (barely noticable). Otherwise condition is excellent. 2 pounds, 12 ounces. $50.
