B834. Juyo Token Tobun Rui Mokuroku. Juyo Index

$350.00

B834.  Juyo Token Tobun Rui Mokuroku by the NBTHK.  1999.  2 clothbound volumes in a slipcase, 7 1/2 x 10 1/4″, 980 pages in Japanese.  Juyo Token is a paper awarded by the NBTHK (the organization that runs the National Sword Museum in Tokyo) to swords and kodogu they appraise at shinsa and consider to be important.  These 2 volumes (Koto and Shinto) are an index to the swords that have made the grade from day one in 1956 up to 1999.  The books are arranged by smith’s name and tell you the signature (or attribution if the blade is unsigned), date, nagasa (length), sori (curvature), and I believe it gives cutting tests if present.  Let’s say you own a wakizashi by Suishinshi Masahide and you’re wondering how many of his wakizashi have made Juyo (what are your odds), this book will tell you.  A very useful reference.

The books are like new.  5 pounds, 9 ounces.  $350.
